What We Provided ASPEN PUMPS

The Reason Behind the Solution

Aspen Pumps originally operated a 2T electric Linde fork truck, but it was building up large repair bills prompting the move to a newer, more dependable truck. They chose the Toyota 8FBM20T specifically for Toyota’s System of Active Stability (SAS), with safety functions designed to support operator control and stability during stacking and handling. SAS includes functions such as fork levelling control and mast front tilt angle control, which directly helped address two real operational challenges:
  • Operators sometimes struggled to line up forks accurately at height (fork levelling support helps reduce this issue).
  • They regularly store heavy loads at height (4m+), and wanted extra confidence/control to reduce the risk of instability when placing loads.
This was also Aspen Pumps’ first material handling equipment purchase from Locators, despite being an existing service and maintenance customer—our service quality and the confidence built through support played a key role in winning the equipment order.

WHY DID THEY CHOOSE US?

If your current forklift is becoming expensive to maintain, or your operators are stacking heavy loads at height and need more control and confidence, we can help you choose the right Toyota electric counterbalance forklift, including the Toyota 8FBM20T.

PROJECT FAQS

1. What is a Toyota 8FBM20T used for?

The Toyota 8FBM20T electric counterbalance forklift is commonly used for day to day warehouse handling, pallet movement, loading, unloading, and racking work where a dependable 2,000kg capacity truck is needed.

2. What is Toyota SAS on a forklift?

Toyota’s System of Active Stability (SAS) is a stability and safety system that monitors key operating conditions and is designed to act before unsafe operation occurs, helping reduce risk during driving and stacking.

3. Does SAS include automatic fork levelling?

SAS includes fork leveling control, which supports fork alignment during stacking. This is particularly helpful when operators find it difficult to line up forks accurately at height.

4. Why was mast control important for this application?

When businesses store heavier loads at height, mast control and stability support become more important. SAS includes mast front tilt angle control, which can help support safer stacking and improve operator confidence during high level placement.

5. When should you replace an older electric forklift?

If an older electric forklift is driving up repair bills and causing downtime, upgrading to a newer 2 tonne electric Toyota forklift like the 8FBM20T can improve reliability, reduce disruption, and add modern safety features for your operators.
