Heavy Lifters FC Hit the Pitch
From warehouses to football pitches – Locators go the extra mile.

Our why?
At Locators, we don’t just lift materials — we lift spirits, too. That’s why we were proud to take part in a recent local charity 5-a-side football tournament in support of Tyler’s Friends, a fantastic organization that helps to support bereaved parents through some of the most difficult times.
Kicking Off Something Special
The idea came about following the growing success of our own company-funded 5-a-side football evenings — a fun, casual way for staff across departments to connect, stay active, and unwind outside of work. When the opportunity arose to get involved in a local charity tournament, it felt like the perfect next step.
So, we entered Heavy Lifters FC — a forklift-themed team name, of course — and got stuck in.
More Than a Kick about
What started as a bit of fun between departments quickly turned into something bigger – a chance to bring colleagues together, represent the company in the local community, and support a meaningful cause while doing it.
With boots on, bibs ready, and plenty of competitive spirit, Heavy Lifters FC took to the pitch with pride (and maybe a few pre-match nerves!).
The Squad
The Locators team was made up of staff from all areas of the business, including customer support, engineering, and sales. Representing us on the day were:
Chris Harper
David Scammell
Igor Sobreira
Thomas Landon
Ryan Strong
Nick Burns
Ben Buckler
Bob Bradnam
Game Day at The Hamworthy Club
The tournament took place at The Hamworthy Club in Wimborne on Saturday 26th July, with 14 teams taking part — many of them local businesses just like ours. It was a brilliant turnout with a friendly yet competitive atmosphere throughout the day.
Despite losing a couple of players to (thankfully minor) injuries, Heavy Lifters FC put in a solid performance during the qualifying stages. Unfortunately, we didn’t quite make it out of the group, but we’re already eyeing a comeback next year, with a more settled squad and perhaps a little extra training under our belts!
More Than Just A Match
Until Next Year…
We’d like to thank everyone who took part, cheered us on, or helped make the day possible. It’s safe to say that Heavy Lifters FC will be back on the pitch again soon — maybe next time with a trophy in hand!
