Lead times AKA the latency between the initiation and completion of a process.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a supply chain, lead times are involved whenever goods are purchased, adapted or serviced. So, for a forklift supplier in East Sussex, this is pretty simplistic and certainly not worth a whole page of information, right? Well, wrong, actually. We would argue that thinking about lead times is just as important as thinking about future demand. Time is normally measured in days between what you decide to do today and the time it takes for the impact of that decision to be felt. This value often goes unchallenged for years and doesn't consider the wide variability we experience with our lead times. Firstly, lead times generally follow seasonal patterns. These are shipping delays around holidays like Chinese New Year or the lazy summer break in France.
