Up until this time, the company had been constrained by smaller and less powerful machinery in the form of an electric counterbalance and 4-ton gas-powered counterbalance truck. The latter had struggled with such heavy lifting needs of commercial vehicle engines, and this greatly impacted efficiency and workflow speed. Operations have been much improved since moving on to the refurbished Toyota 8FBMT40 with its 4-ton lifting capacity. The model was chosen because of its robust performance necessary to move the immense weight of commercial vehicle engines-something quite beyond the capability of conventional forklifts. This 4-ton capacity has meant that jobs which would previously take two trips can now be completed in one, further enhancing efficiency and safety. Moreover, the need to provide a multitude of trucks was eliminated and Lefort UK managed to function with a single high efficiency machine.
